Week 34: Nesting, Baby Names & My First Contraction!

Last weekend, I had the strongest nesting instinct ever. I started to pack the baby room, hospital bag, washed and sterilized the bottles and pump parts. And then I listed the stuff I didn’t want in the house on social groups to give away. I even reformatted my old iMac to stream baby channels and music from Spotify for the sake of our little one.

I just kept going until I was tired. It was quite bizarre!

I also had my very first legit contraction yesterday. It felt like really annoying menstrual cramps with lower back pains that usually come with menstrual cramps. I had at least 4 in an hour and then it stopped. Started to google frantically and read that when this happens, labour is coming real soon.

It’s so surreal. I still can’t imagine that we are going to have a baby in our arms for real. Like for real. We are really blessed with our little moon! <3

We have already decided on her name quite some time back. Juvie suggests her chinese name and I the christian name. I’ve thought about baby names since I was 24 and my dream baby names were Elizabeth and Ethan, one for both genders.

And so, we present to you.. Elizabeth Choo Lei Na (朱嫘娜).

The rationale behind this name..IMG_0023

We hope she grows up to be a fine young lady with depth and substance. With intellect and wits. With a good and righteous heart. With elegance and gracefulness and of course with humour. A good mix of everything from her parents’ genes.

Got this really fun book from Typo to document our time with Lissie.IMG_0022

I’ve also started a scrapbooking project. Will post that when it’s done!
