I never had a reading habit when I was a little girl. My parents never read to me at night. And now, I really dislike reading. I can never go past 3 pages of a book in one sitting, unless it’s something I’m really interested in. I finished “Memoirs of a Geisha” in a day. That was a feat for me.

Thus, I want Lissie to have an easy start by making reading fun for her and hope that by doing that, she will come to love books. I’m a very lazy person and I know I will never walk to a room to pick a book. That’s why I created the “Book Basket”. So I will have no excuse to not read to her.

Here’s Book Basket version 1.o.

I started reading regularly to her. After reading a few times, she started to have interesting reactions to specific books. Then the book basket evolved.

She started to fuss whenever I’m done reading a book and wants another. Play the video below to see how she reacts.

So I added more books to rotate. Here’s Book Basket version 2.0.

With this, I was still able to finish all the books in one sitting before she drifts away or falls asleep!

Finally, this amount of books are too little to rotate.
