Waiting for this little one to get out of danger zone sure is long. Being overly-excited future parents, Juvie and I can’t wait to start showing our love. Thus, we’re going to hand make our little bundle of joy a beansprout husk pillow!
Juvie got this bag of husks from a nice old lady at the market for free!
Let’s have a closer look at this large bag of husks.
This is truly going to be a pillow of love.
So I thought this setup will be easy to remove the sprouts from the husks..
After a couple of minutes, it’s not working out.
Persevere! This will take a long time but will be well worth it.
Juvie came up with a better idea to do it directly on the table instead. Much more effective and fast!
Now we can start cleaning the husks.
First, we used hot water to disinfect the husks.
Then we passed the husks through many rounds of tap water, until the water is clear.
This whole process is super time consuming but I know that the end product will be a gift with overflowing love.
Next step: Sewing!

So much work. Really a labour of love.
